The Engineering function at the GSK Ware Manufacturing and Supply site is responsible for the provision of technical expertise to support the manufacturing, automation and controls systems for all production operations to ensure production targets are achieved.
We are looking for Engineering Technicians with a calibration background to join our Metrology team to provide engineering expertise to support production activities.
Engineering Technicians work in a team (managed by an Engineer) to support highly skilled, diverse teams across production, quality, analytical and technical functions at the site. Engineering Technicians conduct a wide range of engineering maintenance, calibrations, physical interventions and repair activities.
Engineering Technician tasks include:
• Calibration of critical process and utility equipment
• Fault finding, problem solving and breakdown resolution
• Maintenance activities on utilities equipment
• Continuous improvement of production and utilities equipment and processes
• Completion of statutory inspections eg ATEX, zero access, LOTO
• Liaising with cross functional teams Quality Validation Site operations
• You may also be involved with project work (including commissioning and installing new equipment)
About You:
Relevant engineering qualifications and / or experience is required (eg; Engineering Apprenticeship in Electrical, Calibration or Instrumentation subjects, HNC/HND). A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential.
You will be a willing learner and a good communicator who takes personal accountability, ownership and action to do the right thing. Good verbal, written and computer communication skills are needed and you must be able to work within a team and follow standard processes.
We are particularly interested in applicants with hands-on experience in the following skills:
• Calibration
• Instrumentation
• Electrical
About Ware Site:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline, many of which are life-saving medicines.
