About the Role:
As a Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist, you will be at the forefront of providing expert nursing care and psychosocial support to patients with skin cancer, both primary and metastatic. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, holistic, and patient-focused care across all stages of diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess patients for cancerous lesions and capture high-quality dermoscopic images for telemedicine diagnosis.
2. Educate patients about skin health, sun safety, and cancer prevention.
3. Deliver holistic, patient-centered care, ensuring empathy and support throughout the care pathway.
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Requirements:
Qualifications Required:
1. NMC Registered Nurse (fully registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council).
2. Membership with BDNG (British Dermatological Nursing Group) and RCN (Royal College of Nursing).
3. Experience in dermoscopy and lesion recognition.
4. Full UK driving license.
Experience:
1. Experienced Registered General Nurse with expertise across medical and surgical settings, including acute and community care.
2. Proficiency in conducting clinical assessments to diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Skills:
1. Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to explain treatment plans and provide emotional support.
2. Compassionate Care: A patient-focused approach, building trust and making patients feel supported delivering high standards of patient care with an evidence-based approach.
