Are you looking for work life balance and a new challenge in a non-traditional clinical setting?
Cornwall Mobility is an independent registered charity based in Truro, Exeter and Plymouth. We are looking for motivated HCPC registered Occupational Therapists to join our existing teams in Truro and Exeter. Other Allied Healthcare Professionals with a clinical background in physical, functional and cognitive assessments are welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Our specialist service primarily assesses medical fitness to drive for people with a range of medical conditions and disabilities. In addition, we provide assessments, advice and guidance for suitable vehicle adaptations, vehicle access and people including children with physical or behavioural disabilities travelling as a passenger.
You will be required to have a sound working knowledge of a range of medical conditions and standardised cognitive screening tools to enable you to assess client's suitability to start, continue or return to driving. You will develop specialist knowledge and use sound clinical reasoning skills to underpin clinical decision making and produce high quality professional reports.
At times you may be requested to work from another Cornwall Mobility location; a vehicle will be provided and travel between assessment locations is included in your normal working hours.
About us
Cornwall Mobility is a registered charity operating in Cornwall and Devon.
We provide solutions, services, support and reassurance to people of all ages in the South West who face independent living, communication and mobility challenges.
Since 1983 we have been providing high-quality services and equipment to people in the South-West. We started from modest premises in Redruth before moving into a purpose-built facility at Treliske in 1994. Since then we have developed into one of the largest mobility centres in the UK.
We work with a network of mobility centres across the country to provide the best solutions for driving assessment tuition, healthcare, and adaptations supported in our workshops. We work with health care professionals in hospital care organisations, general practice and social services.
We are a close knit group with a client centred approach and we focus on providing solutions to those that need our assistance.
