Job Advert Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as an Evidence Management Supervisor in Criminal Justice / Justice Services.
What you will be doing?
To supervise the provision of an efficient and effective Evidence Management Service including inventory control and disposal of evidential and found property complying with legislation, guidance and policy. This includes the secure storage, retention and disposal of cash, drugs and firearms as well as delicate and sensitive items of evidence.
Develop and manage the workload of Evidence Management team both in the Evidence Management Unit and LPA’s, setting priorities and work schedules to ensure a high standard of service delivery across the Unit complying with any agreed timescales, legislative obligations, procedural and statutory requirements.
Collate and present management information to the Evidence Management Manager with performance data to identify good practice and areas for improvement in order to ensure the department is working as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Be the Single Point of Contact for Coroner’s Investigation Officers and families of deceased subject of a Coroner’s investigation. This is to ensure that the matter is dealt with sensitively and that cash and property is returned at the earliest opportunity to provide high quality support to bereaved families and reduce reputational risk.
