Amazon MGM Studios is the home for talent, creating and producing Original films and television series for a global audience. Original series premiere exclusively on Prime Video, which is available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Amazon MGM Studios also produces and acquires Original movies for theatrical release and exclusively for Prime Video.
We are seeking a seasoned production professional to help support content creation and delivery in Japan. This position will support productions across multiple genres (Anime, Unscripted, Scripted and Movies). We are seeking a candidate with their primary experience in Anime who are willing to learn the work flows of other genres and manage projects in various genre with support from their peer Production Executives.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work with multiple stakeholders; complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround; and efficiently and creatively solve difficult or complex problems that affect people within the business. This position will report to the Head of Production APAC International Originals.
The candidate will also have great attention to detail and organization skills, as well as the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is key.
Key job responsibilities
1. Overseeing multiple projects in development, production and post
2. Meets with show producers, production managers and creative executives in budget and production meetings to review progress of projects
3. Works with internal departments and production companies on production schedule, on-set safety, security, insurance, immigration, visa and travel issues
4. Is on-set when necessary to evaluate work-flow, budgets and potential problems both domestically and abroad (as needed)
5. Analyzes budgets and cost reports
6. Works with post-production to ensure delivery of all required assets
7. Coordination with other internal departments such as creative, marketing, press, business affairs, legal and finance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with above-the-line and below-the-line rates and labor laws.
- Working knowledge of production norms and procedures in JP Anime production
- Experience with asset delivery
- Experience with a variety of digital media workflows and post production
- High attention to detail in planning, time management, and organizational skills
- High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- English proficiency is a plus but not required
