We are growing our team in Birmingham and the surrounding areas and are seeking committed Healthcare Assistants to join us and build positive relationships with our service users and their families.
We support adults, children and young people with long term, life limiting conditions, providing specialist, person centred care which is tailored to their individual complex care needs.
This rewarding role offers part time days & full time waking night shifts, providing essential care to our service users within their own homes.
Our service users live with their loving families in the Birmingham area, and each requires a dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are committed to support their long term, ongoing care needs.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in not only attending to the clinical care requirements of our service users but also assisting them in enjoying activities they love.
This includes extending care outside of the home, supporting with community outings, attending hydrotherapy sessions, going on shopping trips, visits to the garden centre, meals out, or simply enjoying the garden when the weather allows.
Throughout the night, you will support their evening routine and remain alert and responsive, responding accordingly to their care needs.
This can include frequent observations, carrying out personal care, moving and handling, and carrying out clinical interventions.
This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service users, really making an impact on their day-to-day lives.
Essential Requirements
1. 3 months previous care experience
2. Personal Care
3. Moving and Handling
4. Medication Administration
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
6. Valid UK Driving Licence
It would be advantageous if you have some experience of the following:
7. Spinal Injury Care
8. Acquired Brain Injury Care
9. Epilepsy Care & Seizure Management
10. Rescue Medication
11. Tracheostomy Care*
12. Nebuliser Care*
13. Enteral Feeding*
14. Suctioning
15. Cough Assist
16. Bowel Care
*These can be essential requirements within some packages of care.
We have the following shifts available;
17. Part Time Days – 4-to-10-hour shifts (alternate weekends also available)
18. Full Time Nights – 12-hour shifts (7am – 7pm)
Our pay rates start from £13.00 per hour (approx. £130 per 10-hour shift)
