What you'll do:
1. Develop a detailed understanding of outpatient clinic capacity and clinic template design, sharing this knowledge with a range of colleagues to ensure appropriate booking of appointments.
2. Identify and implement actions to improve the outpatient service delivered, working proactively under guidance from the Access and Operations Manager and in liaison with others (such as Patient Support Centre, Consultants, Outpatient Nursing Team, and Transformation Team).
3. Responsible for maintaining and maximising the utilisation of outpatient capacity, including maintaining monitoring systems and producing ad hoc reports.
4. Ensure the smooth running of the patient journey (focusing on the outpatient element) by ensuring that coordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
5. Provide cross-cover for other Team Leaders within the Division to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.
6. Assist the Access Manager with Patient Pathway Coordinators' annual appraisals.
7. Act as care group representative in regard to the planning, organisation, and delivery of WNC outpatient services.
8. Deputise for the Access Manager as required on an ad-hoc basis (e.g., cover for sickness absence, working more widely with the divisional management team and outside agencies, attending meetings on behalf of the Access Manager).
What we're looking for:
1. Patient Administration System trained (e.g., E-Camis).
2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Excellent working knowledge of outpatient systems and relevant healthcare procedures.
4. Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems, progress chasing, resources, and staff allocation.
5. Ability to work under own initiative.
6. Organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
7. Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise, and multitask.
