Job Overview
Rikama Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Lewisham assisting in their search for a Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the supporting children throughout the entire school, including pupils with SEN. You will work closely with an experienced team to provide personalised care and education to a range of children, enabling them to thrive and grow.
Other duties include lunchtime supervision, behaviour management support, assisting with activity and lesson planning, and assisting with administrative duties.
The school is easily accessible via public transport and there are also parking options available.
What do the school require from you?
• Experience working with children in EYFS or Primary settings.
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs or a good understanding of SEND within schools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confident and able to use your initiative.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
• Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) and at least one year's experience in an educational role, or other suitable, transferable experience.
• Training in autism, behaviour management, or other SEN-related areas.
• Experience working with students with physical disabilities or medical needs is a plus.
