We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who shares our values and passion for teaching to join our close-knit team.
Responsibilities include:
* Contribute to curriculum design and development ensuring that it meets the needs of our students, enables continuity of learning and achievement, and effective progression towards adulthood, including all related policies.
* Uphold our high educational standards in order to prepare students, whatever barriers they may face, for their next phase of education and life.
* Provide effective leadership and management for all staff, with due attention to supporting staff with prioritisation and workload management.
* Establish and sustain the school’s ethos and strategic direction together with the Headteacher, local governing board and through consultation with the school community.
* Ensure staff and pupils’ safety and welfare through effective approaches to safeguarding, as part of our duty of care.
* Lead the management of allocated staff and resources on a day-to-day basis.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* QTS and evidence of further training in leadership and management.
* Up to date knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation and the ability to promote a culture of safeguarding across the school community.
* Proven record of exemplary teaching which has ensured progress and achievement for students.
* Successful curriculum/subject leadership leading directly to an increase in standards and quality.
* Experience of leading and implementing whole school initiatives and developing strategies for improving quality.
* Experience of monitoring and evaluating curriculum delivery.
* Knowledge and understanding of a range of successful teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all.
* Secure understanding of assessment strategies and the use of assessment to inform sequencing of learning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient IT skills, including use of MS Office and other information management systems.
* Ability to prioritise workload and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
* Understanding of how to foster, maintain and develop a successfully collaborative school team.
