This Hybrid position entails managing a diverse client portfolio across different regions, including East Anglia, the home counties, London, and international clients. The primary focus will be on private clients and owner-managed businesses. Additionally, there may be opportunities to handle trust-related work and matters related to residence and domicile.
What you’ll be doing
1. Client Management:
* Manage your own portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance deadlines are met.
* Deliver high-quality client service through attendance at meetings, telephone calls, and written correspondence.
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying advisory opportunities and optimizing their tax position while considering broader financial goals.
* Client Acquisition:
* Take on new clients through various channels, including the firm’s website, email, phone inquiries, and marketing initiatives (such as social media promotion).
* Tax Compliance:
* Review self-assessment tax returns and related calculations prepared by junior staff.
* Handle all related correspondence with clients, HM Revenue & Customs, and third parties as needed.
* Prepare high-value and complex self-assessment tax returns for individuals and partnerships.
* Review business tax computations (using Excel) and related Partnership Tax Returns.
* Digital Compliance and Documentation:
* Ensure digital tax compliance and maintain up-to-date permanent files in line with the firm’s guidance.
* Advisory Support:
* Assist with planning projects and research technical tax issues.
* Draft clear, concise, and accurate advisory letters for review by senior staff.
* Team Collaboration and Training:
* Train junior staff and collaborate with their line managers.
* Adhere to internal risk management procedures, including anti-money laundering protocols.
* Performance Targets:
* Manage your own work in progress (WIP) allocation.
* Meet productivity, recoverability, and fee income targets.
* Collaboration:
* Work with other departments and tax team members to provide a cohesive and unified service to clients.

Desired skills
* Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a tax role, encompassing self-assessment, tax computations, and advisory work.
* ACCA / ACA / CTA or qualified by experience.
