Job Overview: As a Care Assistant, you will support our clients in all aspects of their day-to-day living, helping them achieve the highest possible quality of life. This role is both challenging and rewarding, requiring you to work independently in clients' homes. Compassion, excellent communication skills, and a calm, caring manner are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: Follow the care plan to assist with showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, and teeth and dentures care.
2. Medication Assistance: Encourage, remind, assist, and administer medicines; order and collect prescriptions; return unwanted medicines to the pharmacy safely.
3. Eating and Drinking: Assist clients in planning meals and drinks; provide gentle encouragement and help with eating and drinking; shop for, prepare, and serve food and drinks; maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure food safety.
4. Safe Use of Aids and Equipment: Assist clients with standing and walking frames, wheelchairs, manual and electric hoists, sliding sheets, moving boards, hearing aids, and other physical aids.
5. Household Tasks: Perform housework including washing floors, vacuuming, sweeping, laundry, ironing, bed making, changing linens, dusting, and general tidying.
6. Social and Physical Activities: Answer the door and greet visitors; respond to emergency bells and telephone calls; accompany clients on outings, shopping, visits to friends, or other activities.
7. Support During Illness: Provide support through temporary and terminal illnesses, including end-of-life care and hospital appointments; liaise with community health support and families.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract
Pay: £11.44-£12.00 per hour
