Job Responsibilities:
* To edit raw footage into polished and engaging video content for television shows, commercials, promotions, and other related projects.
* To troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing software, hardware, and storage systems.
* Apply Ofcom guidelines and adhere to editorial policy throughout.
* Oversee shoots whether on location or in the studio.
* Troubleshoot problems that may arise during the entire phase of the project.
* Ensure set and location is appropriate, fit for filming, and presentable.
* A solid understanding of video post-production workflows, including colour grading, audio mixing, and visual effects.
* The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from producers and directors.
* Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects software such as Adobe After Effects.
* Work within a dynamic team, but predominantly work autonomously, taking control of projects from start to finish.
* Create a 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the programme and determine the exact cutting for the next and final stages.
* Oversee the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing.
* Understand and follow briefs, outline of footage, and/or shot list.
* Assemble all raw footage, ingest rushes and audio, synchronising and storing them into files.
* Suggest or select music; online editing - finalise technical aspects such as correcting faulty footage, grading and colouring, and adding special effects.
* Ensure necessary equipment, props, performers, and technical staff are on set when required.
Skills:
* Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Media Encoder/relevant equivalent tools).
* Strong working knowledge of video editing and design software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suites, Avid is essential.
* Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong understanding and experience in video editing and technical aspects of the software.
* Creative knowledge of stylistic trends in broadcast and social media.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and work under pressure.
* Dedicated, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work within a team.
Qualifications:
* Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Media, Computer Editing, Film/Video Editing, or other relevant qualification is highly advantageous.
Experience:
* 3+ years of video/media production and post-production experience, filming and editing video content for online platforms.
