We are seeking an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of A-level Psychology. The ability to teach a second social science subject would be an advantage and would therefore mean a full-time position could be available for the right candidate. Psychology is part of a small and friendly Social Science department which currently also offers courses in Health and Social Care and Criminology. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career and make their mark as a key member of our well regarded and vibrant sixth form teaching community.
The successful applicant, whilst a specialist Psychology teacher, would also consider contributing to the work of colleagues delivering on other social science subjects. We are also keen to expand our social science offer in the sixth form and the successful candidate may be keen to support with this.
We would very much welcome applications from candidates at all career stages including ECT colleagues. QES and QEStudio would be ideal schools to begin your career, likewise, a more experienced professional would also be a great fit for the team.
We are keen to appoint someone who:
* a keen intellect and an excellent academic background with a very good degree in Psychology or a related subject
* either a great track record of success or, in the case of an ECT, great promise as a teacher
* has experience of delivering Psychology to A-level and possibly a second social science discipline
* has experience of working with students at KS4 and KS5 and an ability to inspire and engage pupils
These are just some of the qualities we are looking for and we have a culture of high expectations but most importantly we are looking for someone with an ambition and drive to be the best teacher they can be. Working here is demanding but the rewards are commensurate in a school with a strong, highly motivated staff, great facilities, a lovely environment and pleasant, friendly and highly motivated pupils.
Applications are welcomed from well-qualified and highly motivated individuals who are keen to work with remarkable young people providing an exceptional education for all.
If you wish to apply, please complete all sections of the application form by 12 noon on Tuesday 4th March 2025. In your supporting statement we would like you to include:
• a statement as to why this particular job appeals to you.
• an outline of your relevant experience
• a discussion of the personal and professional qualities which you believe suit you for this post
We would encourage all potential applicants to read the attached documents and to browse our websites to get a fuller flavour of life at this very special place.
We do hope you will take the time to apply. This is a marvellous place to work and this is a very exciting opportunity.
