The role
An opportunity has arisen for Warehouse Assistant on a part-time basis (mornings with longer hours on Fridays) to join our busy, friendly team at our Head office in our small stores area.
You will be someone with a positive attitude with a strong focus on being organised, have good attention to detail and positively contribute to the role you work in. The ability to work towards deadlines whilst working in a conscientious and tidy manner using your own initiative. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work is essential and to be able to work with colleagues of all levels, both internal and external.
Key job duties
1. Acceptance of deliveries and transfer materials to correct area of the stores/warehouse.
2. Opening the building each morning and undertaking daily/weekly compliance checks.
3. Co-ordination of all loading/unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
4. Control designated storage areas & adjust areas based on storage requirements.
5. Prepare materials for job collection and assist with loading of vans.
6. Resolve stock shortage issues.
7. Comply with Company H&S standards.
8. Correct disposal of materials in-line with Company environmental standards.
9. Occasional driving for collection of materials/site delivery/supplier returns.
10. Keeping all areas including the outside yard, clean and tidy in line with Health & Safety.
The candidate
A successful candidate for this role must have:
1. Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and plant.
2. Basic IT literacy and able to use Microsoft Excel.
3. Clear understanding of Health & Safety.
4. Strong organisation and co-ordination skills.
5. Time management.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
8. Clean driving license.

2. Part-time, permanent (26.5 hours per week Mon-Thurs 7.00am-12.00am. Fri 7.00am-2.00pm 30 mins lunch on Fridays).
