What are we looking for? We are looking for skilled, enthusiastic and experienced Heavy vehicle & plant technicians to join our large engineering team at Lancashire County Council Fleet Services. The role is a mobile role that will be based either from out Burnley or Bamber Bridge depot and a van with tool will be provided for work. As a Mobile heavy vehicle & Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a varied fleet, primarily focusing on light and heavy plant & trucks. Your expertise will ensure that all fleet vehicles are kept in optimal condition through regular maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs. While your primary focus will be on plant machines & trucks, you may occasionally work on minibuses and light vehicles. Additionally, you will provide out-of-hours standby coverage to address any urgent mechanical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring fleet readiness. The successful candidates will be responsible for: • Repair and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards. • Diagnostic fault finding using a range of up-to-date tools & equipment. • Breakdown and reactive repairs. • On site call outs and repairs. • Hydraulic and pneumatic diagnostics and repairs.
