As Veterinary Services Manager, you will:
* Oversight of Outsourced Veterinary Services – Manage the delivery, performance, and quality assurance of third-party veterinary contracts across the UK, ensuring services align with PDSA's standards and values.
* Contract & Supplier Relationship Management – Act as the subject matter expert on medical supply contracts and outsourced service agreements, working with internal teams and external providers to maintain effective partnerships.
* Budget & Financial Management – Manage a significant outsourced services budget (approx. £15m), ensuring services are delivered within financial limits while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
* Strategic Planning & Contingency Preparation – Contribute to the development of future outsourcing strategies and maintain a national contingency plan for Out of Hours veterinary services.
* Client Feedback & Continuous Improvement – Analyse client feedback to ensure outsourced services meet expectations and implement improvements based on insights and market trends.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration – Support field and hospital teams with local contract performance, collaborate with senior leadership, and manage charity partnerships to enhance service delivery.
We’re seeking someone with:
* MRCVS Qualification – Must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, ensuring clinical credibility in decision-making and contract oversight.
* Contract & Budget Management Expertise – Proven experience managing high-value contracts and budgets, including financial, operational, and compliance aspects.
* Outsourced Services Oversight – Demonstrated success in overseeing third-party service provision, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
* Stakeholder & Supplier Relationship Building – Strong ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with external providers and internal operational teams.
* Market Awareness & Strategic Insight – Understanding of the external veterinary services market to identify risks, opportunities, and inform future service strategies.
* Adaptability & Mobility – Willingness and ability to travel to engage with service providers and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all locations.
