The Clinical Fellow will be responsible for delivery of up to 3 FND clinics per week. They will participate in the weekly FND inpatient programme ward round. They will review inpatient referrals with consultant supervision. They may also support the FND Liaison Practitioner with their outpatient clinics.
There is no on call commitment in the post.

The Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) service offers outpatient clinics that attract local and national referrals, a 3-week inpatient programme for people with FND, and a novel in-reach liaison service to patients with FND in the Emergency Department and on acute medical, surgical, obstetric, and gynaecological wards.
Outpatient clinics are held at Southmead Hospital in the Rosa Burden Centre. This unit also accommodates the inpatient programme.
Our department consists of 4 Consultants, 2 Speciality Doctors and a dedicated therapies team.
The main aim of the post is to provide post-CCT training for neurologists / psychiatrists in Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) to develop independent practice in this field. The Clinical Fellow will work within the multi-disciplinary FND team to provide care for people with FND. They will have exposure to all elements of an optimal care pathway for FND and gain competency to offer specialist assessments and treatment planning for people with FND. There will be opportunities to attend related clinics, for example in movement disorders, epilepsy, sleep, and cognitive disorders. The Clinical Fellow will be supervised primarily by Dr Mallam (consultant neurologist) and also by members of the neuropsychiatry team.
