As an Education Support Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting students in the early stages of mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities are; Provide immediate support to students showing early signs of mental health difficulties. Deliver training and resources to school staff and parents to enhance their ability to support students. Promote and implement best practices in mental health and education. Monitor and report on the progress of students and the effectiveness of support plans. Participate in ongoing professional development and share your knowledge with colleagues. We are seeking a compassionate individual with experience in working with young people facing mental health challenges. You will have a strong understanding of SEND and mental health issues, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Experience in delivering training and developing support plans is highly desirable. Essential for the role: Experience in supporting students with SEND and mental health difficulties. Knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across disciplines. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. Desirable: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A relevant qualification in SEND or related field. Experience using specific SEND assessment tools.
