Job summary Lakenham Surgery is currently seeking an experienced Treatment Room Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice and nursing team. Our practice nurses are responsible for providing a full range of treatment room and chronic disease management nursing, working closely with the wider practice team. Previous Nursing experience in a GP Practice is essential, together with familiarity with all treatment room activities, including cervical cytology, immunisations and health promotion. Qualifications and experience in the management of Asthma and COPD would be advantageous. The successful applicant will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and should be willing to upskill further as required. Would suit a good team player who is able to provide support and help to colleagues to ensure that we provide the best possible care to our patients. Ideally 2 days/Up to 18 Hours Per Week Main duties of the job Patient Care providing a wide range of nursing services to include the following areas. Training will be given where required Dressings, wound care and referring to relevant services such as leg ulcer clinic if needed Immunisations, including childhood immunisations, seasonal flu, pertussis, pneumococcal, shingles and RSV Injections including Zoladex, B12s, Prostap, Nebido etc Travel Vaccinations Contraceptive, family planning and sexual health advice including pill and coil checks and administering Depo Provera injections Cytology smear tests Health promotion at reviews for both men and womens health and on an opportunistic basis with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary Chronic Disease monitoring and reviews in accordance with training and experience, as required for patient care and QoF Minor injury patients Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Diet and nutrition advice ECGs Blood pressure checks Safeguarding recognise and report on Safeguarding concerns for both adults and children Swabs Venepuncture INR monitoring and the use of INR star Undertaking urinalysis This list is not exhaustive.
