Job Title: Content Intern Location: Mylands, 26-34 Rothschild Street, West Norwood, London, SE27 0HQ Company: Mylands Position Type: Internship (Part-Time and Full-Time) Duration: 3 to 6 months Internship (compensation for travel and lunch costs) – This role is only for students currently undertaking a university course that requires them to do an internship as part of a UK-based further or higher education course Mylands is a London-based paint and wood polishes manufacturer founded in Lambeth, London in 1884. Quality and innovation are at the heart of the business, with our paints featuring in royal households, cultural institutions and on the sets of TV and film productions. Working alongside the Social Media & Customer Experience Manager, you will focus on supporting Mylands’ social media strategy and engaging with our community of decorators, painters, and designers. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing, customer engagement, and the inner workings of a heritage paint and polishes manufacturer. Key Responsibilities: Content Creation & Community Engagement • Develop engaging, on-brand content tailored for B2B and DTC audiences on Mylands’ social media platforms, showcasing our paint and wood polish quality and durability. • Support content creation, with opportunities to use basic photo and video skills. • Build and engage our trade community through targeted posts and interactions, creating a space for decorators, painters, and designers to connect with Mylands. • Assist with planning and scheduling posts to maximize trade visibility and engagement, ensuring alignment with the broader marketing calendar. • Assist with planning and conceptualising of photoshoots both onsite and on location. Partnerships & Influencer Management • Collaborate with our team to nurture relationships with influencers, decorators, and trade clients, creating content that spotlights trade projects, product usage, and creative applications. • Handle day-to-day requests from influencers and trade partners, such as coordinating paint gifting or gathering user-generated content (UGC) from the trade community. • Support trade-driven projects, including influencer collaborations, Q&As, and live social media sessions. Customer Engagement & Support • Join our customer service team in engaging with the trade community via social media and web chat, providing support on colour inquiries, product use, and technical details. • Monitor and respond to customer comments, reviews, and surveys, offering valuable information on trade-specific products and their applications. • Actively contribute to private groups and discussions aimed at trade customers, fostering a collaborative and informative environment. Reporting & Data Analysis • Assist in monitoring and reporting on trade-related social media performance, analysing engagement metrics, and identifying content that resonates with our trade audience. • Support monthly and ad hoc reporting on key campaign metrics, offering insights that inform future content and engagement strategies. • Stay updated on social media trends within the trade and interior design industry, sharing ideas and best practices to enhance Mylands’ social media presence. Qualifications and Experience: - Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related fields, or already have obtained a Bachelors degree in a relevant field. - Basic skills and knowledge in using social media scheduling platforms. - Creative background with an interest in interior design a plus - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong English copywriting skills. - Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) is a plus. - Experience with marketing tools (e.g., Klaviyo, Shopify) is a plus. - Creative thinker and problem-solver - Driven and dynamic with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Previous experience within Marketing is a plus What We Offer: • Hands-on experience in a dynamic and creative environment. • Opportunities to work closely with industry professionals and expand your network. • A supportive and collaborative team culture. • Potential for growth and future career opportunities within the company.
