Job Purpose: As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying customer needs, generating new business opportunities and positioning NATS Services’ future technology portfolio. You will also be responsible for developing and nurturing customer relationships to drive sustainable sales growth within the UK market to develop and implement strategic plans to expand our customer base and increase revenue in line with NATS Services’ strategy. Other duties include: Identify, develop, and grow business opportunities with existing and new customers within the UK market Develop and execute business capture plans to achieve NATS Services’ objectives and revenue targets Drive and influence NATS strategic plans with up-to-date knowledge of market trends and industry developments, including Voice of the Customer evidence and feedback Bring together teams from across the NATS functions (including Account Management, Solutions & Innovations, Growth & Ventures) to collaborate effectively and ensure successful preparation and submission of bids through to contract award Ownership of accurate and timely business area performance reporting Act as Capture Lead for significant opportunities or TANS contracts Build and maintain strong relationships with key external decision-makers and stakeholders Act as Capture Lead for major (£5M) new business, leading the capture team in end-to-end business winning, overseeing proposal creation, cost and pricing activities, leading commercial negotiations, and internal governance Maintain accurate information in CRM in order to measure progress, identify trends and inform future strategies Essential skills and experience: In depth knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry and ATM market Strong commercial acumen Proven business development and/or equivalent experience in a multi-function/multi-stakeholder environment Proven leadership skills and excellent team player Understanding of market dynamics and key stakeholders at UK airports Financial management experience preferable Able to lead the development of compelling business cases for bids Understanding of airport operations, air traffic control and ATM domains Excellent influencing, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
