Apprentice IT Solutions Technician This is an 18-month fixed term position for a suitable individual to progress their career in Information Technology. The successful applicant will be enrolled onto a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship with a local training institute. To support your apprenticeship, you will join a multi-disciplinary team and work across a complete solutions lifecycle that includes requirements gathering, solutions development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. You will learn to support users to ensure that the solution continues to function as expected and meet business needs. You will gain deep knowledge of our existing infrastructure so that you can address symptoms of issues and determine root causes. Specific tasks will vary depending on what needs to be achieved by the team at any time. Some tasks may be very technical, others may be more analytical, business or user focused. Key to this role will be the need to understand the stakeholders and business needs within the organisation. Our UK office is located in Martlesham and the required weekly working hours is 37, 5 days a week (Mon -Thu 0800 – 1630 & Fri 0800 – 1600). As the postholder becomes competent in the role, they will be required provide regular support outside their normal hours of work. Additional working time is compensated. Main duties and responsibilities: Timely resolution of service & delivery issues in line with agreed SLA's. Strict adherence of standard operating instructions and procedures Install and configure hardware and software components, networks, servers, thin Clients, Storage Area Networks and virtual resources residing in Cloud and On-Premise. Perform functional and non-functional testing, including unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing and performance testing. Comply with information security policies and procedures implemented by Itron. Protect Itron and customer information assets to safeguard confidentiality, integrity and availability. Required skills & experience: 3 x GCSE at grade 4 or above (or equivalent), including one core subject Basic understanding of Intel based PC hardware and architecture. Customer service excellence Familiar with Microsoft Office based technologies and operating systems Identify appropriate technical solutions using both logical and creative thinking. Works professionally and independently, taking responsibility and initiative as appropriate Creates and maintains documentation in accordance with best practice, organizational guidance and legislation.
