Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ and diverse secondary school located in Belle Vue, Manchester. The school is seeking to appoint a committed and inspiring English Lead to join their dedicated department from September on a full-time, permanent or long-term basis.

About the Role:
* Leading the English Department in delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
* Developing, implementing and reviewing schemes of work to ensure student engagement and academic success.
* Supporting and mentoring English teachers within the department to maintain consistent standards of teaching and assessment.
* Driving forward the department’s vision for literacy, language development and literature appreciation across the school.
* Contributing to whole-school initiatives for improving literacy and promoting reading culture.
* Monitoring pupil progress and ensuring effective intervention strategies are in place.
* Collaborating with senior leaders on curriculum development and departmental improvement.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a proven track record of success teaching English at secondary level.
* Be passionate about the power of language and literature and committed to raising student achievement.
* Demonstrate strong leadership skills with experience in curriculum planning, staff development and data analysis.
* Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire students and colleagues alike.
* Be committed to promoting the values of diversity, inclusion and ambition.
