WHAT TO EXPECT:
The successful candidate for the above role will retain their current employer, i.e., if you are a Jaguar employee you will continue to be administered on the Jaguar grading structure with the associated terms and conditions. If you are a Land Rover employee, you will continue to be administered on the Land Rover grading structure with the associated terms and conditions.
Rotating Machine Test Delivery (RMTD) is responsible for the preparation and testing of prototype ICE (internal Combustion Engines) and Brake emission test cells, supporting the overall powertrain cycle plan. Test Teams support this activity by establishing support and control of customer test requirements ensuring that Units are tested to the correct procedure and processes, delivering high-quality data.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of Engine Test and Brake Emissions test cells, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to standardized testing protocols (LAMS).
2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of hourly-paid technicians. Provide guidance, support, and direction to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
3. Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate testing processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
4. Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate labor and resources to meet testing demands and project deadlines. Prioritize tasks and ensure a smooth workflow across the department.
5. Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and Scorecard Metrics to monitor operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1. Experience in a supervisory role within a testing environment.
2. Strong understanding of engine testing principles, procedures, and equipment.
3. Familiarity with Brake Emissions testing and related regulations.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to motivate and mentor a team.
