Responsibilities
1. Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
3. Support patients with mobility, including transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs.
4. Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following hygiene protocols.
5. Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures as required.
6. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a caring atmosphere.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff.
8. Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.
Skills
1. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
2. Empathy and compassion for patients’ needs, demonstrating patience and understanding.
3. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently when necessary.
4. Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
5. Basic understanding of healthcare practices and terminology is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
6. Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting or moving patients safely.
