Main Duties of the Job
This is a role which will be key to the Trust's role as leader and influencer in South East London and to achieving Essentia's strategic ambitions. The role is crucial in ensuring that GSTT is compliant with legal and statutory requirements for all soft service provisions across a complex and multi-site organization.
The postholder will:
1. Be the Trust's lead expert for soft services compliance providing expert professional advice to the Essentia Executive on all current legislation.
2. Develop and lead on policies, strategies and implementation of the Trust's soft services annual mandatory programme.
3. Continually improve reporting systems to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
4. Act as emergency manager during major incidents for recovery planning purposes.

Salary: £70,387 to £80,465 a year per annum incl HCA

Job Responsibilities
Compliance: Lead the food safety and environment & QMS teams to ensure all Essentia soft services are meeting the requirements set out in legislation. Oversee regular audits for all departments across the entire GSTT estate. Advise the Director of Compliance & Assurance, Essentia Leadership Team, Trust Board, and Senior Management on all current soft services legislation.
Quality Management Systems: Responsible for all elements relating to an internal Quality Management System (QMS) across Essentia and on all sites. Lead internal audits and report outcomes through PRMs and Essentia quality and assurance structures.
Leadership: Lead the team by example, ensuring that equality, diversity, and inclusion objectives of the trust are championed and implemented. Manage and develop staff effectively within a performance appraisal framework.
Financial Management: Ensure that services are delivered to achieve value for money and meet all financial targets. Manage departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to spending limitations.
Person SpecificationQualifications/Education:
* Master's Degree or equivalent experience in soft services management.
Professional Registration:
* Registered with a recognized professional body.
Experience:
* Substantial experience in a senior soft services role in an estates and facilities context.
* Experience in developing Soft Services Policies and Procedures and ensuring legal compliance.
* Substantial staff management experience, including external contractors.
Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical solutions.
* Highly developed leadership and influencing skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
