Job Summary
An exciting appointment for two Consultant Psychiatrists to work within Herefordshire and Worcestershire Core CAMHS providing consistent and child-centred provision into Core CAMHS.
These posts are substantive with 10 PAs per week being offered. The service operates Monday to Friday, with working hours primarily between 9 am and 5 pm with no on-call rota associated with these posts.
Core CAMHS is a friendly, multi-disciplinary team that includes specialist CAMHS clinicians, psychologists, and medical colleagues.
One post is based at Redditch, and one is based at Worcester, though there is an expectation that the post-holder will travel to other bases across Herefordshire and Worcestershire from time to time, to meet service needs.
Within CAMHS, there are several teams including Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment Team, Community Eating Disorders Service, Wellbeing in Schools Team, Psychotherapy Team, Family Therapy, CAMHS Youth Team, ANCHOR (CAMHS Looked After Children Team), and the Youth Offending Service (YOS), who work collaboratively to provide the best outcomes for children and young people across the two counties.

Main Duties of the Job
Duties will include:
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies.
* Managing a compact case load of the most complex cases and providing senior medical advice, support, consultancy, and clinical leadership to Herefordshire and Worcestershire Core CAMHS.
* Conducting outpatient clinics consisting of routine and urgent new patient assessments and review/follow-up appointments.
* Carrying out home visits and telephone/remote consultations with service users as appropriate.
* Participating in appropriate multi-disciplinary team meetings such as MDT meetings & CPA reviews.
* Maintaining electronic health records in accordance with Trust policies.
* Undertaking and maintaining statutory and mandatory training requirements.
* Actively participating in clinical governance activities.
* Working within the duties and responsibilities of the Mental Health Act.

Essential
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
* Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
* Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* Knowledge about mental health policy with ability to think strategically and manage change.
* Ability to work independently, methodically and safely.
Additional Criteria

* Holds and will use a valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
Qualifications
Essential
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
* Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
* Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Desirable
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* MRCPsych
* Additional clinical qualifications.

* Previous experience of working in a clinical leadership role with positive relationships with team members.
