The PACCAR Powertrain eDS Team are looking for a dynamic, experienced Electric Drive Systems Engineer / E-Drive Engineer to join our team.
The e-Drive Systems team, lead and support on multiple electrification programmes, specifying and supplying e-drive solutions to the whole of PACCAR global vehicles in conjunction with our vehicle platforms teams. We have team members across the globe and specialise in e-motors and power electronics associated with electric drive systems.
Our team is continuing to grow with skills and experience needed within our electrification projects across all our brands.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Electric Drive Systems Engineer / E-Drive Engineer include, depending on project needs:
1. Work from our Leyland facility in the UK
2. Work at base site for 37hrs per week
3. Following the Product Creation Process
4. Work flexibly within the Global PACCAR Powertrain group to support the needs of global stakeholders
5. Organise meetings to discuss relevant technical topics
6. Liaise with key stake holders within Paccar global divisions to create requirements and definitions for product specifications and performance within designated tool chains
7. Liaise with external suppliers and partners to define and develop products to suit the entire Paccar range
8. Prepare and present key milestone, issues and change requests from either supplier or Paccar divisions
9. Handle change management processes within the projects for approval
10. Support & solve engineering problems using known proven engineering solutions
11. Support global build of prototypes/DV/QV/VV vehicles with your components
12. Take into consideration changing customer needs and government regulation/legislation when developing new designs and manufacturing procedures
13. Investigate failures during testing and own component related problems to resolution
14. Work with supplier and supply chain management personnel to ensure smooth process and availability (SSQA/APQP processes)
15. Support and maintain FMEA processes related to the e-Powertrain systems, hold relevant meetings, and create sound relevant DVP&R for validation requirement
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the Electric Drive Systems Engineer / E-Drive Engineer you will have the following:
16. Degree or equivalent in automotive/mechanical/electrical/Mechatronics/Controls
17. Proven background in varied automotive electric driveline systems
18. Sound knowledge and understanding of automotive electric machines and Power electronics
19. Knowledge of vehicle functional safety in line with ISO26262 an advantage
20. Knowledge of Cyber Security an advantage
21. Knowledge of controls and vehicle architecture an advantage
22. Automotive industry preferably at OEM level
23. Cross company communications
24. DFMEA/DVP&R/DFSS
25. Requirements management tools an advantage (DNG, Polarion)
