As you have probably guessed; our Chefs are passionate about food! They're particularly aligned with creative dishes; highly nutritious and offering energy even away from the dinner table. Working collaboratively with our team is integral to the success of this role, as is communication and an exploratory nature, keen to work with high-quality and fresh ingredients.
This is a 'never stand still' kind of job. There's lots of preparation work to do around busy service times - always a task to complete and more skill to learn.
The role:
As a Hospitality Chef, you'll deliver high-quality catering services that meet our company standards for service, quality, and presentation - all while meeting compliance requirements and financial targets.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Head Chef in preparing food to the standards of KLA, balancing cost-efficiency with nutrition.
* Producing food to specification using costed recipes and ensuring sufficient quantities for service.
* Managing stock requirements and placing orders with approved suppliers.
* Ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation across both daily meals and hospitality events.
* Leading by example during service to deliver efficient, friendly, and personal customer experiences.
* Training and briefing staff on ingredients, cooking methods, and portion sizes.
* Proactively managing customer satisfaction and resolving any concerns promptly.
* Upholding all food safety and health & safety procedures, including cleaning schedules and reporting requirements.
What you'll need:
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Basic financial and IT literacy
* NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery
* Basic and Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificates
* Health & Safety at Work knowledge
* Experience working in a kitchen or managing a small unit
* A customer-focused mindset
