The Set-up Operator I is accountable to the Production Supervisor for all activities relating to the set-up of all inspection, labeling and packaging (ILP) equipment, trouble-shooting, mechanical adjustments, and preventative maintenance, in order to meet the company’s objectives. These activities will be performed in accordance with the requirements outlined in Company Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities
Sets up and disassembles all inspection, labeling and packaging machines.
Trains new ILP operators on inspection machine, labeling machine and packaging line operation.
Performs basic troubleshooting, mechanical adjustments, interventions and preventative maintenance on the ILP machines.
Reports any equipment problems and process related downtime to the area Lead Hand, Maintenance Technician, and Supervisor and work together to solve them.
Ensures that the ILP areas run smoothly by informing the area Lead Hand and/or Supervisor when supplies are needed.
Makes suggestions for improving training programs and ILP area processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
In the absence of the Lead Hand, performs back-up duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Monitors and reviews system entries, ensures that scanned data is accurate.
Creates maintenance work orders and requests using the CARL system.
Reviews batch record entries and assist with audit corrections.
Ensures all GMPs, SOPs, and company policies are followed.
Assists with Q-Note and DIR Investigations as required.
Takes on the role of the Operator as needed.
Follows GMP and regulatory requirements, and ensures quality standards are met.
Observes and supports all safety guidelines and regulations.
Demonstrates the Company Mission, Vision and Values Statements, policies, and current standard business practices.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma.
Experience: A minimum of one year of related work experience in a manufacturing environment, however 2 years or more of work experience is considered an asset. Pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic industry experience is considered an asset. Demonstrated mechanical experience or mechanical aptitude. The ability to work any shift in a 24/7 environment.
