If you do, then you might be the person we are looking for We are looking to recruit a Decontamination Team Leader, full time at Colchester Hospital. In this role you will join the departments’ group of team leaders looking after the busy, fast moving acute Endoscopy Reprocessing Unit and Sterile Services. You will assist in providing a complete Decontamination service, including the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes. Current working hours are based on 4 week rotational shift pattern. A flexible approach is required for this busy Department in order to meet the service demands of the Users & includes working 1 weekend in 4 on both Saturdays & Sundays & currently Bank Holidays on a rostered basis. Current Endoscopy Reprocessing Unit hours of service will be on a shift basis by rota, as per the above, with times of: 07:00 – 15:00, 13:30 – 21:30 weekdays and 08:00 – 18:00 weekday and weekends. Current Sterile Service hours of service will be on a shift basis by rota, as per the above, with times of: 07:00 – 15:00, 13:30 – 21:30 weekdays and 09:00 – 17:00 weekends. These hours are subject to change upon needs of the service. You will be joining and supervising a busy Endoscopy Reprocessing team and Sterile Service team. Your new role would be to provide a complete Decontamination Service by ensuring thorough reprocessing of flexible endoscopes for our Endoscopy and medical devises for Theatres by following Trust and departmental procedures. You will assist the Decontamination Operational Manager by supervising, organising and allocating work to your team and training members of staff. You will attend the weekly team leader meeting and monthly staff meetings. You will order stock and liaising with service users to help ensure a smooth running of the department. You will also be required to participate in the department audits internal and external. You must have a flexible approach to work and be able to communicate at all levels, therefore good verbal and written communication skills are needed for this role.
