We are seeking a highly analytical, detail oriented professional to join the team as a Middle Office Operations Analyst at Schonfeld in our London office working in our Discretionary Macro & Fixed Income (DMFI) team. You will be tasked with building out our DMFI Operations practice in London: a rare and exciting opportunity join a new and growing operation where you will utilize your experience to implement best in class operational policies and procedures. You will be a team player who can use their strong interpersonal skills to deliver organizational objectives.
What you’ll do
The individual will be responsible for successful operational delivery, working in a fast-growing operations team in London. You will be responsible for day-to-day deliverables; participate in process improvements and project initiatives and assist the Operations Manager to deliver firm initiatives and strategies.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
* Automation of key daily processes in the DMFI operations team
* Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to improve front to back efficiency and controls
* Process full trade flow lifecycle, from capture to settlement with associated exception management
* Daily TO controls and assisting with T+1 cash, position, and trade reconciliations with brokers, custodians, and other vendors
* Support with trade bookings, reporting, P&L enquiries, compliance protocols, confirmation processing
* Constant engagement with trading desk, PMs, risk, compliance, financing, technology, and other internal teams
* Static data management across internal and external vendors to ensure seamless data flow
* Self-starter and independent worker with strong sense of ownership, capable of delivering, driving, and shaping results and to meet deadlines under pressure
* Develop relationships with key external service providers, ensuring oversight of outsourced processes and optimizing working relationships
What you’ll bring
What you need:
* Excellent product knowledge of macros and fixed income
* Products to include, rates, FX, credit, FI, repos, futures, and various swap products
* Previous experience working with vendors and 3rd parties
* Past track record for process automation/enhancements and strong technical skills
* Positive mindset and ability to work effectively in a global team
* Committed, able to work under pressure and great team player
* Support business growth and partake in various projects
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Diligent working style with attention to detail and high standards for quality
* Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related degree
* Writing Python code
* Systems such as: Geneva / Traiana / CTM / MW / MTM
* Experienced understanding of ISDA confirmations
* Working in a multi-strategy, multi-PM fund structure
* New platform build out and integration
