Your new role
My client is seeking a dedicated and organised Assistant Site Manager to support their site management team in overseeing residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, excellent organisational skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. As an Assistant Site Manager, you will assist in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Site Manager in overseeing daily site operations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
2. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to support project progress.
3. Help monitor project timelines and schedules, reporting any potential delays or issues to the Site Manager.
4. Conduct regular site inspections to support quality control and adherence to design specifications.
5. Assist in maintaining clear and effective communication with project managers, architects, and clients.
6. Help manage resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient site operations.
7. Assist in resolving on-site conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
8. Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs and progress reports.
What you'll need to succeed:
1. SMSTS / SSSTS, First Aid, CSCS.
2. Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
3. Basic knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
4. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. The ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and specifications is a plus.
7. Proficiency in basic computer applications and experience with construction management software is a plus.
8. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
