Key responsibilities of a Relief Manager:
1. You will be running an entire home when a Home Manager is absent or when they are recruiting for a new one.
2. Taking responsibility for the well-being of residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
3. Leading, motivating, and mentoring your team and delivering clinical guidance and training to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient running of the care home.
4. Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised care plans for each resident.
5. Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies, and legislation.
6. Promoting residents’ independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the very best standards of care and striving for continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Provide information, advice, and support to residents, families, and staff.
2. Promote residents' rights and duties and encourage them to join activities.
3. Help residents to access local services and take part in the local community.
4. Monitor business performance and quality of care.
5. Agree contracts, budgeting, and fundraising.
6. Develop policies and practices and keep confidentiality.
7. Recruit, train, and supervise staff.
8. Work within the NMC codes of conduct.
9. Provide support and professional supervision to care staff and nursing staff as appropriate.
10. Ensure effective communication with relatives and other healthcare professionals.
11. Ensure confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home is maintained.
