Essar is committed to playing a key role in the decarbonisation of the UK. EET Fuels is looking for a Senior Manager – Trade Finance & IST to connect Finance with the International Supply & Trading (IST) division. You will oversee exports, imports, financial transactions, and trade finance while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Your role will be key in managing financial records, contracts, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain a strong financial control system across supply chain activities.
2. Work closely with front and middle office teams.
3. Manage trade finance, including legal contracts and banking transactions.
4. Oversee customer and supplier onboarding with strict processes.
5. Track and reconcile trade finance arrangements to prevent financial losses.
6. Review and approve contracts, check invoices, manage payments and collections.
7. Analyse trade risks and develop strategies to reduce them.
8. Ensure on-time payments, collections, and accounting for all trade transactions.
9. Provide cash flow forecasts to Treasury.
10. Verify cargo insurance coverage.
11. Prepare accurate and timely reports on trade positions.
12. Build and maintain relationships with trade partners.
13. Coordinate internal and external audits and improve financial systems.
About You
You are an experienced finance professional with a Chartered Accountant qualification (or equivalent) and a deep understanding of oil markets, trade finance, and risk management. You have a proven track record in financial controls, contract management, and strategic analysis. Your leadership skills enable you to develop high-performing teams while building strong relationships with key stakeholders. With expertise in SAP and trading software, you thrive in a fast-paced, high-value trading environment.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Chartered Accountant or equivalent
2. Certification in Trade Finance, Commodity, or Forex Market – Preferred
3. Strong understanding of oil markets (physical and derivatives)
4. Strong analytical skills
5. SAP Working Knowledge (MM, SD & FI Modules) – Preferred
6. Familiarity with trading software like Aspect
7. Strong negotiation skills
8. Ability to lead, guide, and develop a team
9. Strong networking and relationship-building skills
10. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
