We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional to join us for a 6 month fixed term period in supporting our Data and Regulatory Compliance Advisor and our Risk and Assurance Advisor.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference, facilitating a high-quality service and supporting the objectives of your supported areas.
We believe work is something you do, not somewhere you go, so if you want to work for a company who are truly flexible and where you are valued then this could be the role for you!
What we’re all about
Here at Yorkshire Housing our customers are at the heart of what we do – we call it being customer obsessed. In a nutshell, we own and manage nearly 20,000 homes (and counting) across Yorkshire and our mission is to make it possible for our tenants to have a place they’re proud to call home.
We have huge growth plans and ensuring we are compliant in our approach is an important part of our success – that is where you come in!
You’ll ensure our assurance processes run smoothly and effectively, as well as be a strong communicator who can convey and understand the requirements of providing a great data protection and risk framework, and of course be able to prioritise work effectively.
What will you be doing?
Your days will be varied as you work closely with your two supported areas. To give you a flavour…
You’ll be the go-to person for all correspondence, handling a high volume of incoming and outgoing communication. You’ll keep on top of shared email inboxes, making sure any queries or requests are addressed or redirected promptly. You'll also coordinate both internal and external meetings, confidently liaising with a range of stakeholders, including Directors, Heads of Service, and Internal Auditors, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. If you're organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple tasks, we’d love to hear from you!
This is a great role for anyone with an interest in the world of Compliance and Assurance, as you’ll be working on a variety of tasks and gaining insight as you develop yourself and support your work areas.
What are we looking for?
The answer is simple - if you are hardworking and driven to achieve wins for the teams, and hungry for your next challenge then we would love to hear from you!
We’re not expecting you to be an expert in both Risk and GDPR, as training and support will be provided. However, some knowledge of either would be an advantage.
The below would also be great:
1. Strong team working skills with the ability to flex what you are working on depending on priorities
2. Effective communication skills with the ability to maintain working relationships with all levels of the organisation
3. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet specified deadlines
4. Ability to work under pressure whilst staying motivated
5. Strong organisational skills
6. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
7. Ability to handle confidential information and highly sensitive data appropriately
What’s in it for you…
This is a full time, fixed term role with a salary of £25,725 per annum for a 35-hour week plus 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.
We offer a reward package to suit everyone. At YH, you can claim back for prescriptions, eye tests and more with our cash plan, make the most of a variety of retail discounts and take advantage of our pension scheme where we’ll match your contributions up to 9%, just to name a few.
Our people’s health and wellbeing are one of our top priorities, and you can make the most of our readily available wellbeing support package. This includes access to a library of free fitness classes, as well as an instant My GP service and free counselling sessions with a trained professional.
Now you’re really interested?
At YH, we’re actively building a working environment that’s inclusive as well as diverse, where everyone can contribute their best work and be themselves. We believe difference is what makes us stronger and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting communities we serve, so we welcome and encourage candidates from all backgrounds for this role.
We know that not all candidates will meet every single requirement. If your experience looks a little different from what we’re looking for and you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to learn more about you so please apply!
If you require any additional support with your application, or have any further questions please contact our fab recruitment team via email at recruitment@yorkshirehousing.co.uk.
The fine print
The closing date for applications will be 4th February 2025, but we might close it early if we get lots of great candidates, so don’t hang around.
First interviews are expected to take place 11th February, and will be held via Teams.
Second interviews are expected to take place 20th & 21st February and will be face to face in Leeds.
If you’re applying for this role internally, you must inform your current line manager (it’s the right thing to do!).
