Nikkiso Cryoquip is based in Europe, but is part of a larger group of companies with our corporate headquarters located in California, USA. The Sales/Applications Engineer is the direct technical link between customers and the internal groups of the organization responsible for sales and growth of market share for the European division of the Nikkiso Cryoquip Heat Exchanger Group. Daily tasks include process design for customer tailored proposals, proposal formulation, and sales negotiations (both technical and commercial) to ultimately win projects and grow the business. Secondary tasks could include project management, R&D project execution and supporting various other sales functions. This position reports directly to the Business Line Manager of Europe for Heat Exchangers. Perform day to day activities for the European division of the Nikkiso Cryoquip Heat Exchanger Group in the role of process engineer and technical sales support. The role will involve: Sizing and conceptual design for heat exchangers and related process equipment, mechanical design support, component selection, project estimating, cost analysis, generating proposals and quotations, communications with customers for equipment support and process analysis. Travel to customers for the purpose of presenting the company, capabilities and discussing potential opportunities as required. Product development support consists of similar sizing and conceptual exercises, as well as data collection, follow up, design modifications and engineering solutions. Process design utilizes thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer analysis, as well as considerations for standard components, materials and manufacturing constraints. Additional aspects of the position will involve working with and providing support to the current team to progress enquires, quotations and resulting orders. This may include aspects of any of the following: Generating and presenting proposals and quotations, follow up on open quotes and communications with customers for equipment support and project management. All necessary training and product information will be provided. Perform other d uties and tasks as assigned. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering, or similiar discipline. Interest and experience in technical sales would be highly considered. Applications from new Graduates will be accepted, as well as those from applicants with 1-2 years relevant experience. Knowledge of electrical equipment and mechanical equipment is helpful, as well as ability to understand electrical schematics and process & instrumentation diagrams. Must have good communication skills and personable to engage customers. Must also be able to work well with current team members to develop and present solutions to customers, progress sales opportunities and provide additional support as described above. High self-motivation and initiative, along with good organisation and management of contacts will be important requirements. Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required. Foreign language skills would be of interest.
