Description
We have an opportunity for a part time Business Support Officer to join our busy Children's Services Communications team. Duties will include meeting and greeting families and children face to face for their appointments, answering the phones and taking messages or passing to an internal department, recording accurate information on the system database and other administrative duties.
The ideal candidate will have good administrative skills, including a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications, along with a background in customer service. Experience in a reception type setting would be beneficial but not essential. In addition to this, the candidate must have excellent communication skills, an ability to prioritise work, and be committed to working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from working with a highly supportive and encouraging team, alongside a generous annual leave entitlement, and the Council's flexi scheme. A successful candidate will be offered a full training package.
Work locations will be primarily based in our Brixham centre and Torquay; however, you may be asked to work from another office location in Torbay. Working days will be on a Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
This post requires a Standard Criminal Level Check. This will show details of all spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions that have not been filtered in line with legislation.

Experience & Qualifications

* Educated to O Level/GCSE standard (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
* Experience of working within a team.
* Experience of working in a busy office using a range of administration procedures.
* Experience of dealing with a range of enquiries both on the telephone and face to face.
