ECE Assistant Roles Available in Bristol, UK. Start date: September 2024. Prospero Teaching is currently looking for positive and energetic ECE Teaching Assistants to work across Bristol, England - UK. If you love travelling and experiencing new things, this opportunity is for you!
As an ECE Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers by helping supervise activities in the classroom, working with children on an individual, small group or whole class basis. Some Teaching Assistants work one-to-one with children with special educational needs. The successful candidate will support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom. They will be highly motivated and focused on achieving the best for every student.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting children across the curriculum, often with a particular focus on maths, reading and writing.
2. Providing extra help to children with special needs or those for whom English is not their first language.
3. Helping develop programmes of learning activities and adapting appropriate materials.
4. Motivating and encouraging pupils.
5. Assisting with marking and correcting work.
6. Attending meetings and reviews.
7. Helping with school events, trips and activities.
8. Managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment.
9. Responding to any questions from pupils about processes and procedures.
10. Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures.
11. Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
12. Reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.
To qualify, you must:
1. Have a Bachelor’s degree or diploma.
2. Be eligible to work in the UK (i.e. Youth Mobility Visa, UK passport).
3. Have sensitivity, understanding and patience.
4. Be able to remain calm in stressful situations.
5. Have a positive attitude and desire towards working with children.
6. Be flexible and open to change.
7. Have excellent verbal communication skills.
