Quality Engineer / Inspector
Location: Sheffield, S13 9AD
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The company designs, manufactures, installs, and services innovative, bespoke, and well-engineered Smoke and Fire Curtains that provide protection, security, and reassurance.
The Role
The Quality Engineer/Inspector ensures manufactured products meet requirements using tools and guidelines. They will inspect and verify product quality, ensuring it meets the required specifications before reaching the customer. The role expectancy will be to reduce/prevent quality issues within the company and maintain quality standards, reporting directly to the QHSE manager.
Key Roles and Responsibilities include:
1. Participate in projects to help reduce quality issues and problems internally/externally.
2. Travel with the QHSE manager to suppliers and participate in quality processes.
3. Assist in continual improvement projects and work on further developments in this area.
4. Test defective products and prepare report writing.
5. Work with manufacturing to find solutions to difficulties in manufacturing new products and implement appropriate measurement/quality control steps.
6. Assist in investigating and resolving complaints and issues with the company products.
7. Support in developing and maintaining the internal test procedures.
8. Assist, support, and report to the QHSE manager.
9. Inspect production and confirm specifications by conducting visual and certain test requirements.
10. Communicate with the QHSE manager and support meetings regularly.
11. Undertake training to be able to complete further job responsibilities.
12. Maintain the calibration system to comply with 9001 requirements.
13. Complete/support reports and logs with data and inspection results.
14. Rework and analyze quality issues in detail to set trends and build a database to help prevent quality issues within the company.
15. Act as internal auditor to support 9001 requirements.
16. Conduct quality inspections on deliveries and modified products.
17. Rework, test, and visually inspect electronics.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Working with electronics - Basics
2. Fault finding to component level
3. Experience in collaborative working both internally & externally
4. Previous quality role experience
5. A-levels, C&G, NVQs in the associated field, or equivalent experience
6. Writing SOPs/testing instructions
7. An understanding of electronics
8. Use of equipment - Multimeter, caliper, power supplies, etc.
9. Working knowledge of IT skills - particularly with Word, Excel, and Outlook
10. Experience of working with industrial standards and directives
11. Basic tools experience
12. Holds a current UK Driving License
