Are you someone who thrives on solving complex security challenges and has a passion for building and leading SIEM strategies? We are seeking a skilled & driven SIEM expert to join Aviva’s Security Engineering Team, working within the wider Group CISO (Chief Information Security Office) business unit. You will be expected to deliver an ambitious and highly diverse pipeline of work across multiple SAAS and cloud environments, whilst maturing the existing service and building out and developing the team.
A bit about the job:
As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing and enhancing our current logging practices into the SIEM, developing effective alerting mechanisms, and identifying potential threats to our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of SIEM Technologies, threat detection methodologies, and security best practices.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Logging Review and Improvement: Assess current logging practices and identify gaps in data collection and logging. Develop and own process to rationalise logs into SIEM.
2. Alerting Development: Design and implement alerting rules within a SOC environment to identify suspicious activities and potential threats.
3. Threat Identification and Analysis: Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate alerts and respond to security incidents.
4. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain documentation related to logging configurations, alert rules, and incident response procedures.
What you’ll get for this role:
Starting salary between £80,000 - £90,000 London based, £70,000 - £80,000 National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
Bonus opportunity – 12% annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
