Waking Nights Support Worker
£11.44 per hour
Must be able to work 39 hours per week as this is a full-time position
Shift patterns are generally:
1. 21:00 to 07:00
2. 22:00 to 07:00 (Waking Nights)
Real Life Options are opening a new Supported Living service in Ilkeston to provide support to people with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs. We would therefore be ideally looking for candidates with experience.
We will provide individualised support packages and promote independence to enable people to live a happy, fulfilled life within their own homes. The purpose-built accommodation consists of individual apartments and purpose-built bungalows.
The service comprises of:
1. 12 apartments for people with mild learning disabilities,
2. 4 bungalows for individuals with higher complex needs,
3. 4 bungalows for people who display behaviours of concern.
The role
You will be supporting individuals in their own homes to live as independently as possible. This involves following daily planners, helping with financial expenditure, providing domestic support, and administering medication. There may also be some support with personal care and meal planning/preparation, maintaining important relationships, and supporting individuals to find new friendships.
A rewarding part of the role will be encouraging participation in activities in the local community to enhance social inclusion, seeking new opportunities for the growth and development of the people we support, which could include volunteering roles and further education access.
Working on a rota, you will be required to work weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and nights with planned time off.
An Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
