Working as part of the dynamic Transaction Services team to deliver a Payables and Receivables function, processing all payments to suppliers and issuing invoices to customers in line with service standards and prompt payment targets. The role sits within the Finance, Planning and Performance unit., · Process all payments on behalf of NatureScot through the Oracle finance systems, ensuring that such payments have undergone appropriate checks in line with delegated financial authority and over £250k reviews and undertake checks on the validity of source documents. · Ensure payables invoices are processed within prompt payment targets and in line with NatureScot financial procedures and service standards. · Monitor the query management system for accounts payable invoices, follow up on invoices in dispute and outstanding invoices. · Assist with the payment run process. · Issue sales invoices to customers in a timeous manner and ensure credit policy standards are adhered to. · Respond to internal and external queries in a professional and timeous manner, and to helpdesk service standards. · Provide appropriate advice in line with the finance services notices and guidance. · Contribute to general administration duties associated with the Transaction Services team activities including housekeeping tasks. · Collate data to prepare monthly prompt payment analysis. · Contribute to Oracle systems testing as required. · Undertake any specific project work as required which may include providing input to the annual accounts project. · Improve personal performance by participating in the Performance Development process. · Carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post. · Provide other transactional support as required and financial advisory support to the Crofting Commission. · Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and procedures., Whether working at home or in an office, or travelling to meetings and site visits, as a NatureScot you will contribute to our Net Zero plan, for example through positive carbon travel choices. You will aim to minimise travel in accordance with NatureScot's low carbon operating procedures. However, you will, in some circumstances, be expected to work with colleagues and stakeholders from across Scotland, which will involve some travel and may involve overnight stays.
* Experience of Oracle financials or other similar financial systems
* Ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload including being flexible and adaptable in response to changing priorities and tight deadlines
* Effective communications, especially the ability to convey complex or contentious information clearly and confidently
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Good interpersonal skills that contribute to collaborative/team working and customer orientated service provision
* Experience of using MS Office specifically Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word and be able to demonstrate the ability to learn other systems quickly
* Strong sense of responsibility, effort and commitment

* Proof of right to work in UK.
* To undertake a Disclosure Scotland application.
* Although Gaelic language is not a prerequisite it is a desirable skill in support of our commitment to our Gaelic Language Plan
