There are 2 posts available with different hours: 1x 37 hours 1x 34 hours The shift pattern for this position is days, nights and weekends (12.5 hrs). Assists with the nursing care of the patient under the supervision of a trained nurse. This will include all basic care including, the reception, admission, transfer and discharge of the patient according to procedure. Ensure patients receive the care and assistance required/prescribed with fluid and nutritional intake. Observes and reports any change in the condition of the patient and communicates this verbally to the nurse in charge. Completes observations and reports any changes to the nurse in charge / nurse responsible for that group of patients. Assists the patient unable to self-care with personal hygiene and dressing, adhering to all manual handling procedures and policies. Carries out and assists with minor investigatory procedures e.g.: urinalysis, urine collections as required. Reports all findings to the trained nurse. Participates and assists in the updating and completion of accurate patient documentation as necessary e.g.: MUST, care rounding, food/fluid balance, PUDRA charts and files documents appropriately when required. Is responsible for the cleaning and tidying of clinical areas and equipment and reports any defects and areas of concern to the nurse in charge. Assists with the safe custody of patient’s personal belongings in accordance with organisational policy.
