Responsibilities:
- As the CyDR Information Incident Team Leader, I will lead and manage a team responsible for initial responses to information security incident notifications. This includes escalating cases when necessary and producing status and post-incident reports. I will highlight trends to enhance future capabilities and incident responses, focusing on long-term patterns of incidents, including emerging malicious activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the CyDR response to cross-domain information security/loss incidents and overseeing the processing and reporting of incidents in line with policy and legislative timelines.
- Directing investigations and ensuring closure as per relevant policies and processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to personal data compromise.
- Conducting lessons analysis for information security incidents, communicating findings and risk mitigation outcomes, and supporting Defense intervention activities to enhance the information security culture.
- Ensuring the mandated data is accurately recorded in the Defense incident management system as per Defense policy and gathering statistical data related to security incident reporting.
- Line-managing a team, coordinating day-to-day activities, managing recruitment, and facilitating continuous professional development.
- Preparing responses to Subject Access Requests (SARs), Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and parliamentary inquiries related to information security incidents.
- Building and maintaining relationships with relevant organizations across the government.

This position requires a commitment of 37 hours per week and may involve travel within the UK, or potentially occasional travel abroad for training or operational reasons. We offer a Digital Skills Allowance of up to £11,400 per annum, which will be assessed during interviews based on core technical skills.
