gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Stores Project Specialist to work at their facility based near Birmingham.
Performance Objectives
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Project Specialist with a strong background in Store Management and Procurement, with an analytic mindset. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and effectively, ensuring smooth inventory control while identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyse, interpret, and submit data reports.
2. Conduct minimum and maximum stock level analysis.
3. Manage obsolete items.
4. Lead competitive tender exercises to guarantee cost-effective pricing.
5. Compare the Stores Department internal processes with industry best practices.
6. Implement process improvements for all Stores related activities.
7. Constantly analyse stores data to propose cost savings projects.
8. Implement new inventory management to reduce waste and cost.
9. Streamline computerized systems for better inventory control.
10. Provide regular project updates to the Management Team and Procurement Manager.
11. Negotiate with suppliers using various techniques.
12. Manage and benchmark existing suppliers.
13. Set up NDAs as required prior to tender exercises.
14. Ensure all sourcing exercises are conducted according to SOP.
15. Work on cost savings initiatives and manage the savings database.
16. Attend daily Engineering meetings and other meetings with suppliers.
17. Assist different teams with finance and requisition queries.
18. Support the Procurement Manager in reporting and event preparation.
19. Implement and follow procedures.
20. Standardise item descriptions.
21. Perform general administrative duties related to the role.
22. Travel might be required.
The ultimate purpose of this position is to manage and prioritise projects to achieve target cost savings from Stores expenditure.
Basic Qualifications
1. Must hold a degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
2. Experience in Purchasing with a manufacturing background.
3. Experience in managing inventory levels.
4. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power BI, and Pivot Tables.
5. Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
6. Proven decision-making and project management experience.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work in a pressurised, ever-changing environment.
9. Proactive attitude with strong negotiation skills.
Preferred Skills
1. Proficiency in managing Excel and Oracle.
2. Experience managing Stores Processes.
3. Experience managing minimum and maximum store levels.
4. Relevant professional qualifications like CSWM or CIPS.
5. Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
6. Ability to read drawings.
7. Experience in 5S methodology.
