It is a successful and 11-18 school which serves its local community well by providing a first-rate education for all its students. In 2019, The Garibaldi School was placed number 1 in Mansfield and 6th overall in Nottinghamshire for its Progress 8 results. The purpose of this role is to work with families and students to overcome barriers to attendance and maintain high rates of attendance. You will share an understanding that all members of staff have a collective responsibility for engendering a culture of success and a belief that all students can achieve. The main responsibilities of this post are to: To undertake home visits to identify barriers to education and provide appropriate support for families. To formulate, during such visits, strategies as appropriate for the family and to deal with the consequences of poor attendance. To plan and implement interventions, for example home visits, punctuality alerts, student interventions, outside agency working and through meetings. Build good working relationships with partnership organisations, within the statutory and voluntary sectors. Understand the role staff play in safeguarding young people Work closely with the Student Attendance Administrator to fulfil statutory attendance legislation requirements Run the daily late gate detention We look forward to hearing from you.
