Role Responsibility We are looking to recruit multiple KR6 Pensions Assistants to join our large, friendly, busy team, based in Maidstone. Please note that the primary location of the role is Invicta House, Maidstone, with the possibility of hybrid working (office and home working dependent on business needs). The positions are permanent, full time (37 hours per week). These roles have arisen due to the internal promotions of colleagues within our Section. The vacancies are within our pension administration delivery teams. This is an entry level role to work with us at Kent Pension Fund, therefore whilst it is recognised that candidates’ knowledge or experience of pensions may be limited, a willingness to learn about pensions is crucial. You will need to have good organisational skills, the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, excellent communication skills and be flexible. Office administration experience is preferred but not essential. Good IT skills are essential, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook. The Pensions Assistant role is very varied and you will undertake a range of administrative tasks for our current scheme members, as well as those joining or leaving our pension scheme. You will be required to use our administration systems (such as Altair) to process casework that will sometimes involve financial data, therefore it is essential that you have attained a minimum of level 4 (grade C) at GCSE maths or equivalent. Part of your role will involve communicating by telephone and in writing with our customers as well as external organisations, so you will need to be able to deal with sensitive matters and provide the best customer care. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification. As an employee of Kent County Council, you will receive excellent benefits, including 27 days annual leave, membership of the pension scheme and flexible working. Full training and support will be provided and there will be opportunities for career progression, including support to gain pensions qualifications. If you are enthusiastic, motivated and enjoy working in a busy customer focused environment, we would be very keen to hear from you. We are expecting a high volume of applications for these roles because of the career opportunities they provide in Kent Pension Fund. We politely request that all applicants state their interest, skills and experience in customer service (relevant to the job description) in their ‘Reason for Application’ section of their online application form. Applicants must apply directly via the KCC jobs website. No recruitment assistance is required from employment agencies.
