String Ting is a creative and super fun woman owned and operated accessories business that started in the founder’s living room during the first lockdown in London and has grown to its fourth studio in as many years!
The brand started a Global trend (by accident) and has been featured in Vogue, New York Times, Cosmo, Harper’s, Vanity Fair and more. Our pieces have adorned the bags and phones of celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Dua Lipa, BlackPink, Kendall Jenner, Justin Bieber and just about every internet girlie that ever lived.
Today String Ting designs and manufactures some of the most premium (and fun) phone straps, bag charms and accessories in the world - all from its light filled studio in Camberwell South East London.
The business itself is fast-paced, highly creative and very agile with an incredible team of makers who have been with the business long-term.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of Inventory, Production, Wholesale Operations, and Customer Service at String Ting. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of our studio and maintaining high standards across all aspects of our supply chain and order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Inventory Management
* Order and manage all raw materials, ensuring stock levels align with production needs.
* Track usage and reorder materials accordingly.
* Record deliveries and update inventory in Zedonk.
* Calculate costs for new beads and update records accordingly.
* Input weekly production data into Zedonk.
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring payments and deliveries are managed effectively.
* Monitor and track incoming materials to the studio.
Wholesale Management
* Review wholesale orders and collaborate with the team to develop production plans.
* Create and process orders in Zedonk, booking production schedules.
* Check raw materials for upcoming orders.
* Generate and print barcodes where necessary.
* Oversee production tracking, ensuring daily records are updated.
* Manage the organisation, packing, and shipping of wholesale orders.
* Arrange and print shipping labels.
* Provide post-shipping follow-ups, including SKU management and order confirmations.
Customer Service Management
* Oversee customer service inquiries, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.
* Organise re-stringing and repairs of wristlets.
* Handle replacements for damaged or incorrect orders.
* Generate shipping labels for DHL and Royal Mail.
* Address product inquiries, address changes, and shipping queries.
* Raise claims for lost or delayed parcels.
* Ensure all unfulfilled orders are processed in Shopify.
* Complete end-of-day order manifesting.
Product Management
* Maintain an accurate Product Wall, ensuring alignment with the website.
* Organise and label products for efficient order fulfilment.
* Conduct regular inventory checks and update records in Shopify.
* Adjust stock levels in Shopify based on production and gifting.
* Brief the packing team on new product information ahead of shipping days.
New Product Development & Launch
* Input new product designs and "recipes" into Zedonk.
* Maintain the Newness Tracker to monitor upcoming product launches.
Studio Management & Organisation
* Assist the team by providing product images and bead locations for production.
* Order and manage studio supplies.
* Organise and restock beads.
* Maintain a clean and tidy studio space.
* Oversee cleaning schedules and general studio upkeep.
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience in inventory management, order fulfilment, or operations management.
* Experience or willingness to learn inventory management systems such as Zedonk and Shopify (or similar inventory/order management systems).
* Excellent time management skills and ability to remain calm and collected when juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Effective communication and relationship management skills.
* Experience in wholesale management and customer service is a plus.
