The East Site Urology Nursing team is seeking a highly self-motivated practitioner, with a desire to promote and develop clinical excellence in clinical practice. The successful postholder will join an established Urology Nursing team and provide nursing support to inpatient/outpatient areas.

Main duties of the job
We're looking for a Prostate Clinical Nurse Specialist to support patients through their initial assessment and diagnostic testing and follow-up care for Prostate Cancer.
The post holder would provide professional clinical support to patients who are on a cancer investigation or treatment pathway for suspected or confirmed urological malignancy, acting as a role model within the department and surgical division ensuring that competence in clinical practice is both developed and maintained.
Whilst supported by the Lead prostate cancer nurse practitioner, the post would include undertaking nurse-led clinics, assisting in diagnostic procedures, initiating specific forms of prostate cancer treatment, supporting breaking bad news, and being a patient advocate whilst providing support and signposting as required to wider members of the MDT and multi-agency resources.
The post would involve supporting urology services to maintain cancer targets, attending MDT as required, and using analytical skills to problem-solve and find solutions to ensure that best practice and best patient care outcomes are achieved. The prostate clinical nurse specialist would actively participate and contribute in clinical audit within prostate cancer to support the wider team in ensuring that services are continually developed.
